Julian Lacamoire and Facundo Lopez won the men’s title at the FIP Gold Shanghai, defeating Denis Perino and Arnau Ayats 6–2, 6–4 in the final. Noa Canovas and Laia Rodriguez took the women’s crown with a 7–6, 7–5 victory over Marta Borrero and Giorgia Marchetti.

The tournament ran from 10 to 14 June 2026, with €50,000 listed in total prize money. Its Gold category gave Shanghai a significant place in the Asian FIP calendar, while the finals supplied the specific partnerships and results behind that event status.

A men’s run through the leading seeds

Lacamoire and Lopez completed the tournament without losing a set, according to FIP’s account. Their route included victories over the second seeds in the quarter-finals and the top seeds in the final, giving the title a clear competitive shape.

Between those rounds, the champions won their semi-final against Miguel Melero and Nico Zurita through two tiebreak sets. That scoreline records a different kind of contest from the final, with both sets extending to the tiebreak before the pair advanced.

The contrast is useful when reading a title run. A straight-sets tournament can still contain closely balanced matches, and an unbeaten set record does not mean every stage was comfortable. The champions had to complete the difficult passages as well as the more decisive scorelines.

Their final then converted the opportunity into a trophy. Beating the leading seeds completed the draw and gave the partnership the men’s championship, with the recorded 6–2, 6–4 result providing the closing reference.

A close women’s final

Canovas and Rodriguez’s title match required a tiebreak in the opening set and a 7–5 finish in the second. The two set scores show a final settled by narrow margins, even though no deciding set was needed.

Close sets place considerable importance on maintaining the partnership’s structure. A pair still needs sound returns, patient point construction and clear movement when the score makes each game feel more significant. The pressure grows, but the underlying work does not disappear. The ability to keep both players involved can be especially valuable when opponents attempt to direct the exchange repeatedly towards the same side of the court.

The women’s champions had also recovered from a set down in their semi-final. That added a different challenge to their route: respond after losing the opener, win the next set and then complete the decider before facing the final opponents.

The eventual title therefore combined recovery in one round with a narrow straight-sets finish in another. A tournament asks different questions as it progresses, and the winning partnership has to keep finding effective answers.

Shanghai’s place in the Asian season

The official event information described indoor competition and an €50,000 prize fund for the Gold tournament. Those details establish the published setting and scale of this edition, separate from other Chinese FIP stops carrying different categories.

For players based in Asia, an event of this kind offers a high-level comparison within the region, subject to the tournament’s entry and acceptance requirements. For local followers, it brings the full process of international competition into view across several rounds.

Thai readers may recognise names from events in Thailand, including Melero and other touring players. Those connections help follow the wider calendar, showing how partnerships move between destinations and encounter different fields.

Shanghai’s results give the June event a distinct identity. Lacamoire and Lopez finished a run that included two leading seeded pairs, while Canovas and Rodriguez handled both a semi-final recovery and a tightly scored final. The Gold label framed the tournament, but the champions’ routes explain the sporting achievement. Their performances turned a five-day event in China into another recorded chapter in the 2026 international season, with each trophy earned through a different sequence of challenges.
