Alba Gallardo and Alba Pérez completed consecutive title wins in Thailand at the FIP Bronze Phangan in May 2026. After winning in Samui the previous week, they took the Phangan women’s final 6–1, 3–6, 6–1 against Carmen Azcoitia and Camille Sireix.

The men’s title went to Antonio Luque and João Caiano, who defeated Vazquez and Martinez 6–4, 7–5. FIP described the success as Caiano’s first international title, giving the second island stop both a repeat-winning women’s partnership and a personal milestone in the men’s competition.

Another final, another answer

Gallardo and Pérez’s Phangan result followed their straight-sets title match in Samui. The second final took a different course: they won the opening set, lost the second and then secured the decider by the same 6–1 margin as the first.

That sequence matters because consecutive victories do not mean identical matches. A partnership can arrive with confidence from one week and still need a fresh response when the next opponents change the contest. The second-set loss made that response necessary in Phangan.

The final set supplied the answer. Gallardo and Pérez recovered the winning position and completed the title, extending their successful trip through a separate draw. The island sequence connected the tournaments, but each trophy required its own decisive performance.

For any pair, that ability to reset is an important part of sustained competition. A previous title is useful experience, yet it cannot play the next point. The partners still need to recognise the current match situation and commit to the decisions that will work together. The decisive response has to come from the partnership in the present contest, whatever happened during the previous week.

A first for Caiano

Luque and Caiano’s men’s final ended in two sets, with a 7–5 second set completing the victory after a 6–4 opener. The result gave Caiano the first international title identified in FIP’s account and added another successful result to Luque’s record.

A first title has a particular place in a player’s career because it turns the possibility of winning an event into something achieved. Reaching later rounds creates opportunities, but completing the final step gives the partnership a result that can be named and dated.

The men’s winners had reached the semi-finals in Samui before winning in Phangan, according to FIP. Their progression across the two weeks therefore differed from the women’s champions’ double: a strong first tournament followed by a title at the next stop.

Both routes illustrate the value of another competition. One partnership carried a winning sequence forward, while another improved its finishing position. The second week offered a new field and a fresh opportunity rather than simply repeating the first event.

Zen Padel and the second island

The Phangan Bronze ran from 14 to 17 May at Zen Padel Koh Phangan, with €8,500 listed in total prize money. Its place after Samui created consecutive international dates in southern Thailand and a clear sequence for followers tracking the players.

For the surrounding community, the event brought full tournament matches into the island’s club setting. Spectators could see how partnerships managed changing scores and how small positional decisions contributed to the final result. Those details connect professional competition with questions familiar from regular padel games.

The two winning stories gave the weekend a distinctive finish. Gallardo and Pérez returned to the top of another draw despite being taken to a deciding set, while Luque and Caiano completed a straight-sets final with a first international trophy for Caiano.

Phangan’s place in the May calendar is therefore anchored in the players’ achievements. The consecutive island dates supplied the setting, but the title matches supplied the meaning: one partnership sustaining its success across two weeks, and another turning a further opportunity into a milestone victory on the second island.
