What Padel Asia’s Continental Role Means for Thailand
Padel Asia’s continental role gives Asian federations a structure for working together under the International Padel Federation.

Padel Asia’s continental role gives Asian federations a structure for working together under the International Padel Federation. The FIP announced its board in December 2024, with headquarters in Doha.
For Thailand, the significance lies in regional coordination: how national bodies connect with the FIP and with one another as the sport develops across Asia.
Keep the organisations straight
Padel Asia, the continental body, is distinct from the Bangkok club with the same name. It is also distinct from the Asia Pacific Padel Tour, which provides its own tournament route.
The Thailand Padel Association’s FIP affiliation dates to 2019. That institutional link belongs to a different timeline from the opening of individual courts or the arrival of regional competitions.
What players can look for
A continental structure becomes tangible through announced competitions, training opportunities and cooperation between federations. Each still needs its own details: dates, eligibility, delivery and access.
The 2024 announcement establishes a historical milestone. It does not, by itself, confirm a current course, funding scheme or unchanged board. The practical story for Thai players will be in the opportunities that are actually announced and delivered.
